- the modem won't care. The data rate is the maximum of the DTE or DCE
- rate. If you have a 14.4K modem, It matters not what your DTE rate is, unless
- the data is highly compressable.

- No, I don't please educate us to what a cached serial port is. If you mean
- buffered with a FIFO (ala 16550), don't bother. Other than that, I can only
- guess that you're looking at your comm software screen and it shows your
- DTE rate, and you're tickled by your own ignorance.
